The task here was to provide a social environment for housing residents to gather and talk. The laminated glass ceiling provides shade with protected seating and built in lighting systems, inserted into the front yard of a senior housing complex. Ease of access, yet a clear presence at the entrance to a large scale facility required careful negotiation of scale and function.
