Trains have been built, assembled, and / or remodeled in Wilmington Delaware for over 100 years. This project was to assess two 125,000 square foot facilities, and determine if this site is suitable for a hi-speed rail repair facility. The car shop planning resulted in recommendation of raising the roof of each facility to install 100 foot long crane systems to lift and modify train cars. The hi-speed rail study resulted in recommendation of a 1,400 foot long building to house the Acela trains for repair.
