Our response to the hi-line competition was to develop this abandoned railway into a pedagogical park. Each architectural element focuses on revelation of one phenomenon or another. There are balancing levers, a star gazing cone, Archimedes screw, a maparium – where one walks through the center of a stained glass earth where all continents are displayed in full light, and many others. The intent is to engage the visitor as participant in an educational process.
